Schrade knives were producing knives for over 100 years before they shutdown in 2004 making their knives more collectible than ever. Western knives was another popular knife manufacture that had produced knives for over 109 years before being sold and then shutdown in 2007. No matter where you look, you will always be able to find a knife from any manufacturer that makes a great collectible addition to your collection.

Manufacturers like Cold Steel and Puma Knives have been around quite a while and have withstood the troubled times while continuing to manufacture great quality knives. Some of their early knives that are no longer made are highly sought after amongst collectors.

When your ready to start and want to buy that first knife, look for one that really excites you. The first knife will set the tone for the what's to come and if you really like the knife, the passion of collecting them will continue to grow.
