b25m2000 asked:

I go to a shop that specializes in stocking random things. Recently I saw a display case full of switchblades, butterfly knives and brass knuckles. Is this legal? Would it be legal to buy them?
BTW, I live in Florida, in case that matters (local laws and such)

How to liberate a set of knives stuck in butcher block?

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010
NixNootz asked:

At Linens N Things liquidation sale my wife bought a display set of fancy knives for cheap. Problem is, only the handles are exposed from the butcher block rack, and they won’t budge. Since the knives were on display, wife thinks they are affixed somehow to the rack for safety. I don’t know if they’re even real knives. Butcher block appears to be pretty sturdy. Any ideas how to get the knives freed up?

What kind of throwing knives should I buy?

Sunday, April 18th, 2010
Eric asked:

My dad and I suddenly got interested into throwing knives very recently, but we have no idea as to what kind of knives we should buy. I don’t plan on competing, and this is simply as a “backyard” hobby, so to speak. I’m also a complete novice…
Any (personal) suggestions on which ones to buy/try out? I’d like to keep the budget low–below $20 per knife.

What are the rules for transporting sharp objects and knives in your checked baggage at the airport?

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
warlain asked:

I’m going to fly on a domestic United Airlines flight in the US, and I want to take some fishing equipment along (including a knife). Are there rules against having sharp objects and knives in your checked baggage? Obviously I wouldn’t carry any of that stuff in my carry-on, so just talk about checked luggage in your answer.
