Survival Knives

Survival knifes as we know them today, were introduced during World War 2 and were actually issued to crew members on aircraft so they could use them in the event of being shot down over wilderness areas. Other branches of the Military adopted them and started to use them each having their own design for them.

It was during the Vietnam War era that survival knives evolved and obtained their somewhat mythical status. The knives could be used for anything from killing an enemy to cutting down a tree.

It was the first Rambo movie that really brought the survival knife into the mainstream publics eye and ever since that movie, they have become a very popular knife among hunters, hikers and anybody who ventures out into the wilderness.
