Some are good and some are garbage. Most Chinese knives are of much better quality than any of there Indian sub-continent counterparts from Pakistan, India, Nepal, etc.
The best pocket knives come from the U.S and Germany. I’ve had a few cheap China knives and they all ended up as screwdrivers, which is their best function lol
Dont much care for stainless either, carbon steel is the way to go if you want super sharp and you wont be using it out on the water much.
Garbage. Look for knives properly heat treated and tempered in the following knife steels: S30V, ATS34, 154CM, AUS10 and Carbon V.
Someone here in the USA got unemployed because of those chineese knives….. In my area Camillus Cutlery went out of business because of competition from cheap foreign knives…… Buy one made in USA — Keep Jobs here! assuming you can still get a knife here……
I do my best not to buy any Chinese made products and i will continue this policy until Tibet regains its independence.
Most Chinese knives are pretty low quality anyway.

Almost every single stainless chinese knife is complete junk, you may get the odd diamond in the rough, but it isn’t likely.
most Chinese and India knifes are like the guys said junk..there made from old ships that they take apart in alang, India…i once brought a German knife in a flea market and i found out it was a soigne knife..it was the best steel i’ve seen.
Damascus steel from Toledo. Nothing better.
My best knives are Old Timer and Buck.
I have two knives from China that are cheaply made compared to the ones mentioned. BUT they do hold an sharp edge very well. They are single blade. I tend to carry one of these all the time becase the blades are very sharp. Ocassionally I will lose a knife and to loose a inexpensive knife from China I don’t worry to much.
Most things from China are not as good quality but I don’t have a problem with “some” of the knives from there.
I’ve never bought a Chinese made knife, but Cabela’s sent me one as a gift. When I saw it in its plastic wrapper, I figured it for junk since it was a free gift. But when I opened it and checked it out, I was impressed. Then I noticed it was made in China. The blade is sharp, and it opens a closes smoothly and snaps into place. The wood grain is also fairly attractive. The link to the knife is below.
As for China in general, I got some respect for their manufacturing ability. I bought a Norinco 1911 .45 back in the day before it was banned, and today it has reached near cult status. The reason is partly because they are no longer imported but also because the gun is well made from forged steel. Gunsmiths always comment on the strength of the steel. They also typically shoot accurately and are reliable.
they are junk let them set on the shelves in the stores or wherever,only high carbon ss is worth messin with ,i have sold knives for over 30 yrs.seen all the junk -cast stainless -surgical ss-some marked 440 etc…….not worth a penny…..stay with the high carbon steel , schrade + ,is a good example,cold steel.,kershaw,some of the older sears knives have great steel,sure carbon steel rusts but it will also hold an edge ,…………let the china stuff go back to china ,all the stuff they make is far inferior to almost any where else in the world ,the guns they sell us ,the ammo , any manufactured goods they make are junk ,but they almost have us over a barrel , just let it sit on the shelves, they are trying to kill us with the toys ,food products ,pesticides,and other poisons ,the dog food,and who knows what else ————–the chinese are not our friends no matter what ——- the clinton’s say——-
